A great days cycling.   A hot day, a head wind and a couple of good hills (one very sharp at the end) made it interesting.

Left Rockhampton later than I hoped for.  Quite easy cycling out to the Mount Morgan range, wouldn't have known that I was towing about 30kg of gear.  Then it rises quite sharply, towing then becomes hard work.  The main road was closed for repairs, the detour along Poison Creek Road has a 17% hill. I battled to push my bike up, let alone ride it.  The road then undulates through Mount Morgan all the way to Dululu.

Quality of the roads vary, some have very good shoulders, others have none. The traffic is light, no trucks.

Stayed on the edge of town in a road side stop.  The water there was recycled and stank like crap,  a caravaner  kindly filled my water bottles.

Spent the afternoon/evening at the Dululu pub.  It's pretty basic but the beer was cold.

Should be an easier day tomorrow.

Ready to go...

Maybe I should have stayed in hotels

Not suitable for fat old cyclists either

Stop for the first night.

Hydration is the cornerstone of every endurance cyclists daily regime.

I suppose it depends how you define progress.

Luxurious
